Founded in 2005, Wydawnictwo Dwie Siostry (Two Sisters Publishing House) is one of the most highly acclaimed publishers on the Polish book market. We specialize in children’s literature by both Polish and foreign authors. We value tradition as much as innovation, and aim to breathe new life into children’s classics and to revive the work of Poland’s very best graphic designers. Our ambition is also to allow talented young writers and illustrators to make their debut with us – and we are proud that many of our new authors are discovered via our bi-annual Clairvoyants international design competition for illustrated children’s books.
Throughout the years, we’ve gained a reputation – both in Poland and abroad – for setting high-quality editorial, typographic, and printing standards. Our books are regularly nominated for and win Polish and international awards, such as IBBY Book of the Year contest, BolognaRagazzi, White Raven, Prix Sorcières, Nami Concours, Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis, etc. – and some of them have become international bestsellers.
In 2017, Dwie Siostry was distinguished with the International Excellence Award, granted by the London Book Fair; the judges praised the publishing house for its “big impact on the Polish and international publishing community”. In 2018, Dwie Siostry received BOP – Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year – Europe, awarded by Bologna Children’s Book Fair and fellow international publishers.
